‘Hero’ mom makes mini hearing aids for her five-year-old son’s Woody and Spider-Man toys to help him feel more ‘included’ after struggling to find one in stores

A mom has been dubbed a “hero” after she made hearing aids for her five-year-old son’s toys so he could have dolls that looked like him.

Linette Taylor, 31, of New York, created the tool for her son, Dayvon Shivers Jr.’s toy, after she had trouble finding dolls with hearing aids in the store.

To make her son – also called Deej – feel less alone, she made it her mission to make the tools for his Woody and Spiderman dolls herself.

Her son – whose hearing was affected by an illness as a toddler – has been wearing hearing aids since he was three years old and to make him feel ‘included’ she used her skills as a nail technician to make the toy-sized aids . .

Her son has been wearing hearing aids since he was three years old and to make him feel “included,” she used her skills as a nail technician to make the aids the size of toys.

‘Deej was born hearing (but) he became sick as a baby and had fluid behind his ears causing nerve damage,

“He’s been wearing hearing aids since he was three years old,” she explained.

One day while shopping, Linnette tried to find toys with hearing aids, but had no luck.

She said, “I was looking for toys with hearing aids and couldn’t find one

“I always want my son to feel involved and companies don’t make toys that look like him…so I make it for him.”

So she went home and went to work.

She said, “I made the toy’s hearing aids with my nail products.

It usually takes about 20 minutes, depending on the size of the toy.

One day Linnette tried to find toys with hearing aids while shopping but had no luck so she made the hearing aids for the toy herself

“And now my son is always excited and likes to show off his toys.”

In a video, the mother can be seen filling the doll’s ear with clear glue.

When she is almost dry, she peels it off so that the glue is still soft and paints the hearing aid with nail polish.

In the next clip, Woody can be seen wearing blue and white hearing aids to match her son’s.

In the final video, Deej can be seen holding Woody, smiling and laughing.
