A ‘have-a-go’ hero helped foil an attempted robbery after jumping over the counter to assault a gunman while threatening a female staff member.
The store worker, named Bob, was caught on CCTV bravely risking his own life after a robber started pointing a gun at one of his colleagues at a local Nisa store in Dunfermline, Scotland, on Thursday.
Within seconds of the thug brandishing his weapon, Bob ran up to the counter and immediately hit him in the head before restraining him.
Other staff members then jumped in to help the fearless worker, eventually disarming the gunman and pinning him to the ground.
Police have since arrested a man in connection with the incident and confirmed that he used a BB gun, although this would likely have been unknown to Bob at the time he heroically took action.

CCTV footage inside the store shows the attempted robbery unfolding as the gunman brandished his weapon at a female staff member behind the counter.
The robber points the gun in the woman’s face before jumping over the counter and demanding she put the money in a bag. The woman tries to prevent the man from gaining access to the cash register, but he quickly pushes her aside.
Seconds later, Bob is seen charging at the attacker and jumping over the counter before delivering a series of punches to the head. Bob gets the man in a headlock while another female staff member tries to take the gun from him.
Two other men then join the fight and eventually retrieve the robber’s gun before stopping him on the ground.

An employee at the store named Wendy has since launched a GoFundMe page for Bob following his brave act.
Wendy wrote: ‘Hi, my name is Wendy and I live in a small community in Dunfermline.
‘Today (13 June) our local Nisa store was targeted by an attempted robbery. This store is run by a lovely family who have served the community for over 10 years and always go the extra mile to help everyone.
‘Employees risked their lives to tackle the robber and save other staff and shoppers in the store.
“Bob, who works in the store, didn’t hesitate and did what anyone else would have done.
‘He heroically jumped over the counter and tackled the robber who had pointed a gun at staff member Cheryl, who also fought very bravely to avoid getting the money.
‘Aisha and usman both helped capture him and get the weapon away.
‘As a local community we would like to raise money to donate to Bob and the other staff. Many donations, large or small, are greatly accepted.
“Remember, ALL HEROES DO NOT WEAR CAPES. Thank you in advance.’
