Astonishing moment hero pet dog Oslo takes down man charging through garden after teenager was slashed with a machete outside train station

A heroic dog took down a man who ran through the pet’s backyard while fleeing an alleged crime.

The man is believed to have been part of a group of four who got into an argument with a 17-year-old boy at Melton South train station in suburban Melbourne at 5pm.

A fight broke out and the teenager was allegedly stabbed with a machete before the group fled the scene in the northwestern suburb.

A 24-year-old Brookfield man attempted to escape through a nearby backyard, where the homeowner’s children and nephew were playing.

But Oslo, the Staffordshire, sensed something was wrong. His protective instincts kicked in, he chased the man and bit him.

After being bitten, the man climbed over a fence into an adjacent property, where he was cornered before being arrested.

“We knew he could have possibly been hiding in our backyard and the kids might have seen him, but since Oslo was chasing him, we were glad he kept them safe,” homeowner April 9News.

A police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia: ‘It is believed the victim was approached by a group of four male offenders when a fight broke out at a Strachtton Street train station just after 5pm.
