Here are all the Microsoft apps affected by the global outage, including Starbucks and Xbox Live

Microsoft faced chaos today after a second global outage in less than two weeks.

The issue affects “multiple Microsoft 365 services and features,” the company said in a post on social network X on Tuesday morning.

Microsoft 365 includes widely used productivity applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel, which prevent many Americans from completing their daily work tasks.

In addition to the office outages, the problems have also led to the outage of Starbucks’ mobile application and Xbox Live.

Microsoft has been thrown into chaos again by its second global outage in less than two weeks. The problem is affecting “multiple Microsoft 365 services and features,” the company said in a post on social network X Tuesday morning

Around 9:15 a.m. ET, reports emerged of the outage, which affected Microsoft’s “network infrastructure,” which is critical to connectivity and communication between users, apps, devices, and the internet.

The previous outage, on July 19, was caused by a problem with a cybersecurity update, but the cause of the current problem has not yet been disclosed.

Starbucks

The coffee giant’s mobile app was also affected by the outage at Microsoft.

According to DownDetector, users reported having issues logging into and checking out of their accounts around 8:30 a.m. ET.

DownDetector’s outage map shows issues in Boston, New York, Washington DC, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, Tampa and other major cities.

About 91 percent of the problems are caused by the app. Seven percent of people say they can’t log in to their account and two percent can’t pay.

At least 33 million Americans use the app, but the number of affected users is unknown.

The app allows you to order, pay and redeem rewards for free food and drinks via mobile.

Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365 is a cloud-based productivity platform that includes Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneDrive.

The services are offered via subscriptions, starting at $69.99 per year or $6.99 per month.

Users can log into their account on up to five different devices, including PCs, Macs, phones, and tablets.

Microsoft 365 also includes Skype for Business, antivirus software, and an enterprise video sharing service.

Microsoft also said its Intune platform, which manages companies’ organizational resources, and Entra were affected.

Entra is a cloud-based identity source that provides authentication and authorization services for Microsoft Azure, 365, and other third-party services.

The company added that its Power Platform, which enables businesses to build applications, analyze data and automate workflows, is also involved.

The service also includes GitHub, a developer platform, and Microsoft Teams, which is widely used by companies around the world.

Xbox Live

Xbox Live gives you access to online content and the ability to play with friends for a monthly fee.

Then there’s Xbox Live Gold, a premium subscription that lets you match with other strangers online and play with friends.

DownDector received hundreds of problem reports about the popular video game Minecraft, revealing that Microsoft-owned Xbox was affected by the outage.

Azure Blue

Azure, also known as Microsoft Azure, is a cloud computing platform and suite of cloud services offered by Microsoft through an Office 365 subscription.

It offers a broad range of cloud-based services and solutions that enable organizations to build, deploy, and manage applications and services across Microsoft’s global network of data centers.

Microsoft announced in the admin center that Azure services are unavailable and that “a subset of customers may experience issues connecting to … services globally.”

“We have made network configuration changes and performed failovers to alternate network paths to resolve the issue,” Azure’s status page reads.
