Henry Winkler praised the late Donald Sutherland as he expressed his “deepest condolences” to the Hollywood legend’s son Kiefer Sutherland.
Winkler, 78, turned to X, formerly Twitter, to send Kiefer the touching message following Donald’s death at the age of 88.
In the message, the Happy Days alum said that both he and his wife Stacey Weitzman had sent Kiefer their condolences.
“@RealKiefer Stacey and I send you our deepest condolences. Your father was indeed special. Kind regards, Henry,” he tweeted.
Winkler starred opposite Kiefer, 57, in the 1998 action thriller Ground Control.

The late actor died Thursday in Miami after a long illness, his talent agency CAA said The Hollywood Reporter.
Kiefer announced his father’s death on Thursday with a moving tribute.
The 24 star said his father Donald, 88, “loved what he did and did what he loved.”
‘It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away. “I personally think I am one of the most important actors in film history,” Kiefer said on Instagram.
‘Never daunted by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and you can never ask for more than that. A life well lived.’
Kiefer – who went on to emulate his father with starring roles in films like Flatliners and Designated Survivor – shared a heartwarming image of himself as a young boy alongside his father during his heyday.
Donald’s career in Hollywood spanned decades, including appearances in The Hunger Games and the 1970s horror film Don’t Look Now.
He won a number of awards for his eclectic range of film and TV roles, including a Supporting Actor Emmy for Citizen X in 1995.

Sutherland also received nine separate Golden Globe nominations for hits such as M*A*S*H and Ordinary People, winning two.
His most recent appearance was last year as Judge Parker in Lawmen: Bass Reeves, and he was set to star in the upcoming apocalyptic film Heart Land, which is in pre-production.
Other stars who paid tribute to Donald included Michael Douglas, Rob Lowe and Nancy Sinatra.
