Helldivers 2’s first PC patch fixes crashes and improves matchmaking

Arrowhead Game Studios’ highly anticipated third-person shooter Hell divers 2 has received its first patch on PC to improve matchmaking and fix some crashes, but the developers have admitted that “we know there is still more to be fixed.”

Hell divers 2 released yesterday (February 8). PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, and many players encountered technical issues, whether it was the aforementioned matchmaking issues, or even the servers temporarily down. While the developers worked to resolve the issue, players were initially encouraged to play with friends as matchmaking was not an issue there.

However, last night Arrowhead Game Studios announced that the first patch was live on Steam: “We have uploaded a patch to Steam that should improve matchmaking for PC,” a rack from game director Mikael Eriksson reads. “The patch also includes some other crash fixes that we have identified. We know there is more to solve, and we are working through it. Nevertheless, we hope this quick patch goes a long way toward improving your experience. Now go bust some bugs (and bots)!”

Earlier in the day, Erikkson had revealed that the patch would first reach Steam before being rolled out to PS5 “as soon as possible”. At the time of writing, it seems like this still hasn’t happened, but needless to say, a fix is ​​on the way for console players as well.

although Hell divers 2 may have had a slightly shaky launch, but there’s plenty for players to look forward to. This week, Arrowhead Game Studios confirmed that the game is being received free story updates after launch later down the line. Game writer Stephen Flowers teased in an interview on the PlayStation Blog: “As for the upcoming story, all I can say is that in a few months the galaxy will look very different than it does today.”
