In the images, Helena is seen as both a child and an adult as she posed next to her father, with some snaps of her sister Anita and her mother Elsa.

Helena wrote, “Daddy. There is no way to describe in words alone what a kind, caring, sweet, humble and beautiful husband and father you were and there is not enough time in this life to thank you for all you have given us.

“You were a shining example of the best son, husband and father and you are deeply loved and adored by all who knew you.

“You went through life in your quiet, cool way with one main goal: to take care of your 3 girls, mommy, Anita and me.

“You gave us a sense of calm, a sense of security and filled us with so much love, wisdom, laughter and most of all wonderful memories that kept coming back to me, you always held my hand like a little girl, hugging us in your red leather reading chair stories, you bike with us little girls to the bakery on Sunday morning, you give me the best soundtrack from my childhood, Elvis, the Shadows, Bix Beiderbecke..

“You tuck us in every night and drive us to school every morning in your metallic blue car, the two of us sneak into my first concert through a side door to see Grandmaster Flash because we didn’t have tickets, we huddled in my room listening over the gramophone to the Cure, Depeche Mode, U2, the Cult, Echo.

“Our endless dancing at parties, you and mama kissing on New Year’s Eve wearing silly hats, your big smile at every meal mama ever made, the sweet way you loved mama so much, your endless love and respect for your parents and for them.” them to the end.

“You were always there, always laughing, always cracking the best jokes, always waving until you couldn’t see me, even if it meant waving for a long time. I have everything, everything to thank you and mom for.

“I now realize that in these many last years of your life you have shown your true strength in fighting to stay with your beloved family as long as possible and not wanting to leave us.

“You’ll always be with us, Daddy and I will keep waving, always.”

Helena previously revealed how she had a loving yet unconventional childhood growing up in Denmark with her South American mother and Danish father.

She revealed how it was thanks to her mother that she became the more confident woman she is today after sending her to acting classes to “learn how to express myself more.”

From then on she did child modeling and was crowned Miss Denmark as a teenager before becoming an icon of the fashion world, ushering in the era of the supermodel along with the likes of Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Linda Evangelista.
