Helen Skelton ‘to present Lorraine’ following split with husband Richie Myler

Helen Skelton is putting her marriage breakdown behind her as it’s been reported that she’s landed a new presenting segment on Lorraine.

The TV star, 39, will allegedly front a TV segment called ‘Me Time’ about ‘physical, mental and emotional wellbeing’ alongside Lorraine Kelly and Dr Amir Khan.

It comes after Helen was left devastated earlier this year following her shock split with husband Richie Myler, with the latter’s romance with new girlfriend Stephanie Thirkill revealed shortly after.

A source told The Mirror: ‘Helen is more in demand than ever and ITV were delighted to land her.’

On her new gig and the importance on having time to herself, Helen said: ‘I took up golf last year to carve out some me time. Spending time in and among greenery is definitely good for me. Fresh air and good views always make me feel better. 

‘I love water too, so a walk by the lake or in the woods is good for me. My boys are the same. If they’re happy, I am. I try to be grateful – and am lucky that work is often enjoyable, so I feel like work is sometimes ‘me time’.

Helen is already a successful presenter, having fronted shows including Countryfile and On The Farm. 

Helen has been throwing herself into work amid her relationship woes and this month it was announced she’d be taking part in the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing.

It was recently reported that Helen signed up for Strictly after her estranged husband Richie Myler shared a loved-up snap with his new girlfriend Stephanie Thirkill.

Richie went Instagram official with his new love, 32, earlier this month as they enjoyed a romantic mini-break in Cornwall. 

Helen, 39, announced her split from the rugby star, also 32, in April – four months after they welcomed their third child together.

A source told The Mirror that signing up for Strictly would give her a lift, adding: ‘The breakdown of any marriage is tough to cope with, and Helen has understandably found it difficult. Being on Strictly will ­undoubtedly restore her confidence.’

Speaking about the glamorous side of Strictly, Helen said: ‘Most mums go to work and any mum who gets the chance to gets to go to work have their makeup done, their tea made and learn something fun… I thought that’s a gift isn’t it?’ 

The Countryfile presenter revealed on her first BBC Radio 5 show since the announcement: ‘The thing that makes me nervous… I agreed to it a few days ago and people keep saying, ‘Can you dance?’ 

‘And I say no because isn’t it the point to learn to dance?’
