Helen Mirren was seen stepping out in New York City after making an appearance at CBS Studios on Thursday.

The 77-year-old actress donned a chic houndstooth print coat over a gray pleated skirt as she stepped out the day before the premiere of her debut film in the DC superhero franchise.

The screen icon, who brought his young grandson Basil to the Los Angeles premiere of his latest project, Shazam! Fury Of The Gods on Tuesday, he rocked a sleek black and white ensemble.

The four-time Emmy winner donned a pair of black stiletto heels and carried a black structured envelope bag with white trim.

The Queen alumna wore her long tresses in a sleek, straight hairstyle that was swept back into a black satin headband and tucked into her stylish outerwear.

For makeup, the Good Liar star looked radiant in a light makeup look with pink blush and a bright pink lip.

The Fast And Furious actress added a touch of sparkle to her look with a pair of statement silver earrings.

For her latest project, Mirren signed on to play in a superhero movie for the first time in her decades-long career.

The Queen veteran joined the star-studded cast of Zachary Levi and Lucy Liu to play an immortal goddess in Shazam! Fury Of The Gods – A sequel to the 2019 DC movie.

In an interview with The New York TimesMirren spoke with Liu and revealed what drew her to being in a superhero movie for the first time.

“We are above superheroes,” he said. “Honestly, I don’t go to see a lot of superhero movies, but I saw the first Shazam and I loved it.”

Mirren continued, “So when Shazam 2 came out, I was like, ‘Well, if I was going to do a superhero movie, that’s the one I’d want to be in,’ because of the wit.”

She goes on to talk about her costume for the role of antagonist and deity.

“Now I have a lot of sympathy and respect for any man who plays a gladiator because they are carrying a great load on their shoulders, as I found out,” he said.

“The costumes are heavier than they look,” Mirren recalled. “And we were wobbling around in huge platform shoes.”

She added: “Gladiators never had to deal with huge, big heels.”

“With me it’s all about looks,” he said, noting that it was all worth it. ‘If it looks good, I’ll suffer it. It also covered my butt.

Mirren also talked about how playing a goddess is different than playing other types of antagonists like she’s done in the past.

“It’s a different psychology because you don’t have to deal with normal human psychology, which is great,” he said. “We didn’t have to consider, ‘Why is this villain doing this? Was he abandoned by his mother at a young age?’

“My understudy made a scene when we were walking through a market,” he continued. And she was telling him how to do it like a goddess: “You have to walk like you’re walking on honey or cream or butter or whatever. You have to absolutely own the space.”

Shazam! Fury Of The Gods is scheduled to open in theaters on March 17.
