Helen Flanagan’s new secret footballer boyfriend is written into Celebs Go Dating in show first – after she was accused of faking scenes on the E4 show

Helen Flanagan met a new boyfriend during the filming of Celebs Go Dating: former footballer Robbie Talbot.

The new flame hasn’t stopped the former Corrie star from appearing on the E4 show. According to reports, bosses have now included her relationship with the former Morecambe striker on the E4 show for the first time in the series.

A spokesperson for the show said producers learned she had a new love during filming and were asked to be transparent with agents.

Helen and Robbie then met with the officers together and it was decided that Helen, 34, would no longer date members of the public – developments which will be shown from episode 10 onwards, reports The sun.

Sources previously claimed that Robbie was on set with Helen when she filmed the dating show, which follows a group of single celebrities looking for love, but that didn’t stop the soap star from kissing a date named Luke in one episode.

A spokesperson for Celebs Go Dating said: ‘During the filming of Celebs Go Dating, executive producers discovered that Helen Flanagan was in a relationship outside of the CGD process. When this came to light, Helen was asked to be transparent with the agents and her fellow celebrities on her next day of filming.

‘As per the show’s guidelines, all participating celebrities must be single. After discussing the situation, it was decided that Helen and her partner, Robbie, would meet with the agents to assess their compatibility, and Helen would no longer date members of the public. These developments will be featured on the show from episode 10.’

Helen appeared in the long-running series and has previously spoken about her dating struggles after splitting from her ex-fiancé Scott Sinclair.

A source told The Sun: “Helen tried to keep the relationship a secret because of Celebs Go Dating. But that has become difficult as their feelings for each other have grown. It came to a head when she was questioned by dating agents about why she wasn’t pursuing connections on the show.

‘The only rule of CGD is that stars have to be single. But E4 bosses wanted to keep her at all costs, so they found a way to write Robbie into the show.

‘Sources on set have seen him filming with Helen. While it is not known how E4 will justify the fake, viewers will feel like they are trying to pull the wool over their eyes.’

Earlier this week it was revealed that the actress attended her 34th birthday party with former professional footballer and coach Robbie Talbot, 44.

Helen looked happier than ever as she hit the dance floor with Robbie and he picked her up and spun her around.

A source said at the time: “Helen is completely in love. They look so good together. She deserves to be happy after everything she’s been through recently.

‘She has tried to keep the situation out of the public eye, but that has become difficult as their feelings for each other have grown stronger.

‘Helen made no secret of her new relationship at her party, but it’s still early days.’

This came after Helen was rejected in the latest episode of Celebs Go Dating, leading viewers at home to suspect she was ‘putting men off’.

The actress made her debut on the dating show last week, alongside singer Jamelia, Gogglebox’s Stephen Webb, Love Island’s Chris Taylor and Made In Chelsea’s Tristan Phipps.

During the episode, the celebrity bachelors had to attend a masked gathering, where they were given the challenge of getting to know some of the attendees better.

However, while waiting for her date, Helen received a call from dating agent Anna Williamson, 43, telling her that her date would not be turning up.

Anna told Helen: ‘I just got a call from Yus and I’m sorry to say he’s really not feeling well. I’m afraid he won’t be able to come to the appointment today.’

The former Corrie actress seemed disheartened by the news that her date would not be coming and viewers took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to criticize her dating adventure.

One viewer wrote: ‘Oh Helen, it’s not the kids that turn you off. It’s talking about your ex.’

Another added: ‘Helen from Celebs Go Dating is suffering from verbal diarrhoea.’

Still, some fans took to Instagram to show their support for the star, writing, among other things, “You just gotta love Helen.” “She’s so sweet, God bless Helen.”

Helen has children Matilda, nine, Delilah, six, and son Charlie, three, with her ex. This week she admitted she felt ‘invisible’ during her relationship with the footballer, because she fears no man will ever love her again.

Speaking to dating agencies Anna and Dr Tara Suwinyattichaiporn on Celebs Go Dating, Helen candidly shared: ‘I was with my ex for about 13 years and we broke up about two years ago.’

“I think it was just that we weren’t a good fit or compatible anymore. I always felt very invisible around Scott, like I was fighting for his attention. The fights we had were just really sad.”

Helen also admitted that she is afraid that no man will ever love her again because she is a single mother.

Trying to hold back tears, she continued, “I don’t know if I feel like anyone will really love me.”

“I know my ex treated me badly, but I also knew he truly loved me. I have three kids and I don’t know if a man will ever see me for more than just sex.”

“I think it comes from my insecurity about rejection. Or from a man’s thought, ‘Oh, she’s good, but I’m never going to marry her because she has three kids.’
