Helen Flanagan shares a behind-the-scenes glimpse at her I’m A Celebrity isolation period

Helen Flanagan has given a behind-the-scenes look at her time in seclusion ahead of starring in I’m A Celebrity.

The former Coronation Street star, 32, joined her fellow celebs in South Africa’s Kruger National Park for the new spin-off series, which filmed last September.

But before heading to the jungle, Helen and her fellow TV stars had to spend a period alone in seclusion before joining everyone else, though they still had access to their phones.

And taking to Instagram, the actress shared a look at her Facetime of her youngest child Charlie, two, on her phone.

While another picture saw her enjoying a pampering session with a face mask and her hair wrapped in a towel – apparently making the most of the time before being subjected to harsher conditions at the camp.

Captioning her post, she wrote: ‘Super excited for Monday the 24th when @imacelebrity South Africa kicks off.

“Here are some pictures of my isolation xxx.”

It comes after Helen admitted she’d “rather give birth” than relive one of the bush tucker trials from her recent I’m A Celebrity stint.

The former Coronation Street star, 32, originally entered the Australian jungle in 2012, but last year she returned for a second try for the spin-off series in South Africa.

And recalling her time in the jungle during an appearance on Friday’s Loose Women, Helen moaned that it’s “hell in there” and “really hard,” before sharing that she considered two months before agreeing to do the show.

She told the panel about her jungle experience, “Every time the jungle is going on every year, I get the memes from my friends.

“I thought about it for over two months before I did it. That show is really hard, when you watch it at home you think “oh I could do that!”

“You have to be a certain kind of person, it’s hell there, it’s terrible.”

She talked about the bush tucker trials and the camp conditions and continued, “The trials are very, very difficult. You feel dirty, you can’t shower.

‘I also feel that it is sometimes intense to be filmed 24/7.

‘I did one trial and I thought, ‘I’d rather give birth now!’ I’m a wimp by nature, I’m afraid of heights, spiders, snakes.’

The actress’s time in the jungle meant she was away from her three children who she shares with ex-fiancé Scott Sinclair, but credits him and their mothers for looking after the kids.

She explained, “I was away from the kids for a month. Scott, my mother, his mother, took care of the girls. Scott’s mom was great.’

Helen was previously voted on by the public multiple times after she confessed to being a “scary cat” on the first day of the series.

The TV star said she’s a different person this time around, as she was “quite young” during her previous spell of just 22 and had “not prepared at all.”

Helen said she has a new mindset this time around and “will not finish the trials” because she wants to make her three children proud.

She was known for dropping out during seven Bushtucker Trials on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! back in 2012.

And Helen Flanagan, 32, is rejoining the popular ITV show for the South African All Stars version and is determined to face her fears.

The former Coronation Street actress was previously voted down by the public several times after she confessed to being a “fearful cat” on the first day of the series.

The TV star said she’s a different person this time around, as she was “quite young” during her previous spell of just 22 and had “not prepared at all.”

Helen said she has a new mindset this time around and “will not finish the trials” because she wants to make her three children proud.

She said: ‘It will be different. I was only 22 at the time and I am now 32. I have grown a lot and have had three children and three births!

“I will not finish the trials because my mentality will be very different this time.

“When I went into the jungle the first time, I didn’t prepare at all. I had no idea what I had let myself in for and I even cried when my phone was taken from me after I landed in Australia.

“I’m just going to be brave and keep going. I want to make my children proud if I participate this time.’

She did admit, however, that she’s “not a jungle warrior” and still has a fear of heights, but she’s excited to be reunited with ITV hosts Ant and Dec.

She continued, “I’m not saying I’m going to go in and become a jungle warrior and be absolutely awesome, because I’m not.

“Yes, I’ll be scared, but I’ll try and I’ll be a lot better than last time. When I see Ant & Dec in the South African jungle I joke I’m not going to do the Trials!

‘It will also be really nice to see Ant & Dec in a funny way again!’
