Helen Flanagan reveals she got in ‘trouble’ with Coronation Street bosses because of her fake tan
‘I’d be very pale and then bright orange’: Helen Flanagan reveals her fake brown got her in trouble with Coronation Street bosses ‘all the time’ for ruining scene continuity
Helen Flanagan was in trouble with Coronation Street bosses ‘all the time’ for ruining the continuity of the scene with her love of fake tan.
The actress, 32, who played Rosie Webster in the soap until her departure in 2018, admitted ITV executives would go ‘absolutely crazy’ if she was ‘very pale’ one day and ‘bright orange’ the next.
Speaking on I’m A Celebrity… South Africa, she said, “I used to get in trouble for my fake tan. One time I was very pale and the next time I was bright orange.
“They go crazy when you do things like that, they go completely crazy. They flip when the continuity changes halfway through the scene.”
Dean Gaffney also reflected on his time on EastEnders playing Robbie Jackson and admitted that he once made a blunder by getting an eyebrow tint during filming.

He said, “I went to Dubai so I snapped for a tint between scenes, but I fell asleep and she left it on too long.
“The first person I saw was [co-star] Danny Dyer. He was like, “Are you okay son?” but the makeup smelled. They were rubbing [eyebrows] for ages, scrubs, all kinds.”
On Friday’s episode, Joe Swash lamented having the “worst outro ever” on EastEnders as the camp mates discussed their challenging experiences in the television industry.
The contestants discussed the BBC One soap, as both Joe and Dean had both starred in it before.
Dean revealed that he would be going back to the show even after already returning five times.
The discussion led Joe, who previously played Mickey Miller on the show, to admit, “I wouldn’t mind[going back]you know.”
‘Purely because of the family. Because you know what you do, how you do it, when you do it. They never asked me to come back in, not once, mate!’
When asked how his character turned out, the actor added, “(It was) the worst outro ever… I didn’t even leave at the end of the episode.”
“You know you’re going to leave and you’ll get the “duff duff”? Mine, I went to Norwich to be a bellhop in a hotel and half way through the scene I just walked into The Vic, said “See you later”, returned to Phil, came over to me and I was gone.
‘What? That was it? No “duff duff”. I was there five years and not one “duff duff”!’
I’m A Celebrity… South Africa continues on Monday at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
