Just a few days ago, Helen’s son Charlie had to be rushed to hospital by ambulance after breaking his clavicle at the Alton Towers water park.
The former Coronation Street star recounted his anguish as he spent six hours in hospital on Thursday following his amusement park accident.
On her Instagram stories, Helen said: “We went to a water park and Charlie slipped, really, really bad and it was horrible, absolutely horrible.”
‘I had to call an ambulance and my clavicle had been split in two. It was horrible, so I spent about six hours in Stoke hospital.
‘I would like to thank the paramedics and the doctors and nurses who were amazing. Thank you so much. That was horrible, just horrible, horrible, horrible.
“Seeing your son in pain was horrible, but he’s okay.”
She added: ‘Actually, there’s not much you can do about it. It seems to heal on its own, but it’s horrible when you’re a mother and you wish you could take all the pain away.

Helen revealed that the accident happened the day before she was taking her eldest daughter, Matilda, to Paris on a girls’ trip.
She said she still made it to Paris and took Charlie with her writing: “Charlie has been amazing bless him so brave x at the Eiffel Tower today.”
She said of her decision to go on holiday so soon after the accident: ‘I promised Matilda for months. She had always wanted to go to Paris and she didn’t want to disappoint her. She was crying in the morning.
“It was meant to be just me and Matilda’s trip and it was supposed to be a big girl trip for Matilda because Delilah gets a lot of attention, so long story short, I have Matilda and Charlie with me because obviously I couldn’t leave him and I have my friend with me too.’
