Helen Flanagan describes her flight from hell after it was delayed by air traffic control chaos and she wore her swimsuit on a ‘freezing’ plane: ‘It was pretty awful’
Helen Flanagan has told fans about her ‘terrible’ flying experience after wearing a swimsuit on a flight home from Greece.
The former Coronation Street star, 33, was on a family holiday with her children Matilda, seven, Delilah, four, and Charlie when their flights home were delayed due to air traffic control issues, following a system malfunction on Monday.
Through her Instagram Stories, Helen revealed how relieved she was when she finally came home after a nightmare on the plane.
She wrote, “I need to catch up on Instagram as I haven’t stopped since we got back from Greece. The flight home was pretty awful. But I’m just glad to be home.’
The star explained that she wore a swimsuit to the airport as she doubted she would actually get on the plane due to the delays.

She added: ‘It didn’t help that I was wearing a swimsuit and only a shirt dress on the flight – I was freezing cold. I just didn’t think I’d get home and thought I’d just try it.’
Helen had previously shared an update while pushing Charlie’s buggy through the airport, saying she didn’t get a chance to shower.
She said, ‘I haven’t even showered since I was in the pool on the beach. I’ve got Charlie and Delilah here (the stroller). I just hope I can go home today.’
The soap star then asked her children, “Do you think we’re going home?” as they giggled in response.
Helen was only 10 years old when she first appeared on screens in Coronation Street as Rosie Webster. She was in the soap for 12 years.
The actress broke off her engagement to Scott Sinclair last summer, after having been together for thirteen years. They have three children; Matlida, Delilah, five, and Charlie, two.
The I’m A Celebrity star recently spoke out about her divorce from Scott for the first time earlier this month.
Through her Instagram story, Helen reflected on her life since the breakup and the “big adjustment” she’s faced as a single mother of three.

The soap star revealed she still wears her ring, albeit on her other hand, and laughed to herself as she recalled Scott’s proposal at Disneyland in 2018.
She began, “I really like being honest about situations. That’s what I try to do with motherhood, it’s been a strange adjustment for me.’
Helen continued, “Actually for the past year. I was with my fiancé for a very long time – when I was 19 to 31 and he was my whole world.
“I still wear my engagement ring, but I wear it on my other finger because I love it. It’s my grandmother’s wedding ring. Besides, it took him long enough to propose, it’s nice to keep all the good memories.”
