During a Q&A on Lea’s Instagram Stories this weekend, she shared insight into her second pregnancy.
The Brunette Ambition author revealed her three-year-old son Ever is “really excited” to be a big brother.
“It’s so sweet to talk to him about it,” Lea wrote alongside a photo of herself and her son on vacation. “I can’t wait for them to meet!”
The adorable photo showed Lea cradling her growing bump while wearing a blue one-piece swimsuit and smiling at Ever.
The Funny Girl star also noted that she’s “feeling pretty good” as her due date approaches.
‘Thank you for asking!’ she continued. ‘Every pregnancy brings its own ups and downs and we deal with them as best we can. But I’m grateful for the energy I have, while at the same time caring for a toddler and feeling so grateful.”
One thing that helped Lea during her second pregnancy is a tip from pregnant friend Ashley Tisdale.
The Disney alum, who is expecting her second child with husband Chris French, told the Broadway star to “get up a few moments before everyone else in the morning” for some alone time.
“…It was so helpful,” Lea admitted. ‘I make my matcha (one a day) and sit alone for a while. It really helps me to just feel centered and it also allows me to be super present once Ever wakes up.”
Last month, the Funny Girl star revealed she’s expecting a girl: ‘The most beautiful Mother’s Day today, holding my son who made me a mother… and with my daughter’
Last month, Lea revealed that she and Zandy, who tied the knot in 2019, are expecting a daughter.
“The most beautiful Mother’s Day today,” she wrote Instagram post, ‘Holding my son who made me a mother… and carrying my daughter. ‘
Leah first announced her pregnancy in March, with a sweet photo of herself wearing a long, white cardigan that showed off her bare stomach.

“Mom, Dad and Ever are overjoyed,” the Spring Awakening star captioned the photos.
Over the years, Lea has reflected on how her mindset changed as she became a wife and mother.
“I just couldn’t see things clearly,” she said on The Drew Barrymore Show in 2022. ‘It was all about my career. I’ve been so career-oriented all my life, I think, that’s a mistake. I think I had a sense of drive that created a lot of blind spots in my life.”
“I feel like it’s definitely softened me a lot and I probably could have used a little bit of softening,” she told Extra in 2021 about Ever’s birth, “and he’s really just the thing that changed me and I the most ‘I am so grateful’
She added: ‘When I met my husband, like I said, it was a real grounding feeling for me.’
Lea also opened up about her first pregnancy, noting that she was put on bed rest while carrying her son due to heavy bleeding.
“I still wasn’t sure if the pregnancy would last,” she continued. ‘It was horrible. It was the lowest I have ever experienced in my entire life.”
Ever was born healthy, but the scary ordeal brought her and Zandy closer.
Lea told Drew Barrymore: “Having our son and experiencing the challenges we faced during pregnancy was something that – unfortunately – created a stronger bond within us.”
In addition to becoming more grounded, the Run to You artist shared some other notable differences in herself since taking on the role of mother.
“I feel like it definitely softened me a lot and I probably could have used some softening.” she told Extra in 2021, “and he really is the thing that changed me the most and I’m so grateful.”
“During the pandemic, I was kind of in and out of hospitals and things like that… which added an extra layer of stress and anxiety…,” Lea continued. “Once my son was born… we had that special, private time with him… Now we’re getting back into the swing of life and introducing our son to the world and it’s really amazing.”
