Heathrow toasted its busiest Christmas since 2019 as travelers returned to the skies to head home for the holidays.
London airport saw a 90 per cent spike in passengers compared to 2021 levels, with 5.9 million passers-by in December.
Transatlantic travel was a major driver, with New York’s JFK airport being the busiest route.

Britain’s largest airport said travelers reported a “friendly and efficient journey through immigration” as armed forces and volunteer officials acted during an eight-day strike by border guards.
It said 92 percent of passengers went through security in less than 10 minutes during the Christmas peak.
The airport said 61.6 million passengers flew in 2022, 42.2 million more than the year before.
But it warned it could be reversed by the reintroduction of testing for travelers in the UK and beyond after Covid spikes in China.
