Heather Rae El Moussa reflected on her time filming the hit Netflix series Selling Sunset while appearing as a guest on The skinny confidential podcast about him and her this week.
The 36-year-old real estate mogul was joined in the episode by husband Tarek El Moussa, with whom she produces and stars on the HGTV show The Flipping El Moussas.
Heather was one of the original cast members of Selling Sunset before her time on the show came to an end after seven seasons.
“It was a blessing that I wasn’t asked to come back because I’m so much happier filming my show with Tarek,” she said.
She explained, “We are co-producers of our show, so we choose the hours. With Selling Sunset I never knew when I was going to film.”

“It was last minute, it took over my life, it was hard to do my real job: real estate. It was hard to do anything else,” she lamented.
And she recalled often coming home in tears after working 12 to 14 hours a day on the show.
‘It was crazy. They just want more and more and more and you saw me on the show,” Heather noted.
“I was sober pretty much the whole time. “I was kind of friends with everyone and I kept it pretty quiet in my life,” she said, looking back.
She described her previous show as “very toxic.”
“You’re with a bunch of women (who all want) to be stars on the show, you know, number one. And they will do anything,” she revealed.
It comes after Heather took to Instagram last week to discuss the challenges of parenthood.
She gave birth to son Tristan on January 31, 2023. She is also stepmother to her husband’s daughter Taylor, 13, and son Brayden, eight, whom he shares with ex-wife Christina Hall.

Last week, the blonde beauty took to social media to express gratitude for her children and motherhood.
“All three children have made me a better person in different ways. “I got my feet wet with Tay and Bray and then Tristan’s sweet soul chose me to be his mother,” she wrote in a caption to her 3.1 million followers.
She added: “The children have given me a different perspective on life. There is a different purpose when you become a mother, you think differently, you feel differently.
‘Life is more fun, but scary, I worry about things I’ve never worried about before. It’s chaotic, but it’s beautiful chaos. I hardly rest, I never have lazy days. Some days I miss that. But the alternative is SO much better.”
