Heartwarming moment a five-year-old little girl who won a public speaking competition receives Taylor Swift’s signed 22 hat at Sydney show

A young girl who won a local public speaking competition with a speech about how much she loves Taylor Swift had her wildest dreams come true on Sunday night when the megastar gave her her hat on stage at her concert in Sydney.

During each of her shows, Taylor, 34, gives a signed hat to a lucky fan in the audience as she sings her hit 22.

On Sunday night, Swift picked five-year-old Lily out of the crowd so she could present her with the signed black bowler.

The youngster was overcome with emotion as she approached the edge of the stage before Swift got down on her knees and placed the hat on her head.

Swift’s fans were quick to rave about the adorable images that went viral on social media.

“Literally the cutest thing ever,” one person wrote, while a second added: “I was hoping she would get it.”

The moment was made even more special because her mother had to wait in line for ten hours to get tickets for the show.

During Taylor’s first show in Sydney on Friday, Swift chose young Scarlett, who is battling an aggressive form of brain cancer, as the recipient of her hat.

On Sunday night, Swift picked five-year-old Lily out of the crowd so she could present her with the signed black bowler.

Previously, Scarlett’s stepmother Natalie had posted on social media that it was her stepdaughter’s wish to meet Taylor.

“Scarlett received a ‘wish’ from the Make A Wish Foundation and her wish was to meet Taylor Swift,” Natalie wrote in the post.

“Unfortunately, they told us this wasn’t possible, so through the power of social media and some generous people, we made it possible to attend the concert and received tickets.”

She then shared a photo of Scarlett, who has only 12 to 18 months to live, holding a poster that read, “Taylor, can I please have the 22 hat?”

Later in the concert, Taylor’s wish was Taylor’s wish as she invited Scarlett on stage, hugged her as she handed over the fedora and then tenderly kissed her hands.

After performing three sold-out shows this weekend, Swift will be on stage in Sydney for the last time on Monday evening.
