Marcia Lewis was London’s proudest mother as she watched her son Myles make his Champions League debut for Arsenal – and her reaction speaks a thousand words.

Myles Lewis-Skelly was introduced as a replacement for Bukayo Saka in Arsenal’s 2–0 win over PSG, almost a year after signing his first professional contract.

The 18-year-old made his Premier League debut in the 2-2 draw against Manchester City in September and Mikel Arteta gave him his chance on Europe’s biggest stage in the Emirates on Tuesday night.

Heartwarming footage shows mum Marcia shaking her head in disbelief as Saka’s replacement was announced, unable to imagine it could be her son.

Moments later, she lets out a delighted scream and covers her mouth before tapping loved ones as she watches her son’s name appear on the big screen.

As her son’s name is read, Marcia enthusiastically claps and stands out with her arms in the air to mark a special moment for the family.

“Oh my God” are the only words she can muster in a tear-jerking video.

It has been a whirlwind two weeks for Lewis-Skelly, who was born in Islington and attended Arsenal’s Hale End academy at under-nine level.

The midfielder was shown a yellow card on the touchline before coming on for his Premier League debut at the Etihad.

Footage obtained exclusively by Mail Sport showed he was sent to communicate with David Raya, who went down shortly afterwards and appeared to be a waste of time.

The PGMOL confirmed that Lewis-Skelly had been carded for ‘showing a lack of respect for the game’.

Manager Arteta was full of praise, recently saying: ‘He’s a competitor.

‘You look at him, in every match he has, the way he reacts with his teammates, you speak to him, it’s constant eye contact. He pushes, he asks questions, he’s a special character.

‘He can basically play in three positions: as a left back, as a number six and as a number eight, he is very versatile. It adapts, from there it can occupy different spaces.

“He’s very adaptable, that’s the good thing about Myles: he’s very intelligent, very thorough. Every time you ask him something, he has some incredible questions, and he has the competitive edge that I think is required at this level. And he really wants it, so we are going to use him in different positions.
