Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has won over even more football fans around the world after displaying his compassionate side during a Q&A session with the club.

Postecoglou – who was named Premier League manager of the month in August after two wins against Manchester United and Bournemouth and a draw against Brentford – ensured that one Owen, a Spurs supporter who has Down syndrome, was heard in the room.

The delighted supporter – who, according to those in the room, was waiting patiently to be heard – wanted to know how his beloved team was going to beat fierce rivals Arsenal this weekend in the north London derby.

“Aussie Ange” was happy to oblige.

“Wait, one more question first. He has the best question,” Postecoglou told MC Nihal Arthanayake, who was seeking to end the proceedings.

“(As for this weekend) we will do our best, everyone involved in the football club…..we understand what this team means to all of you,”

“Our role is to try to make you happy and proud…and that’s what we’re going to try to do.”

The emotional moment with the enthusiastic fan warmed the hearts of Spurs supporters, who are delighted to move up to second place – and unbeaten – after five Premier League matches.

“It’s just superb (from Ange) in every way,” a fan posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“I’m so glad he’s at our football club… A great manager and a wonderful human being,” said another.

“Spurs have a gem here and he seems to have transformed the club vibe and connection with the fans from the minute he walked through the door, man,” said a third.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, who was widely criticized after retaining the services of the former Socceroos boss, described the Australian as a “breath of fresh air” for the club.

“Honestly, there was a lot of pressure on me to bring in someone who was a big name,” he said.

“I just wanted someone who would understand our DNA, play attacking football, give young players a chance, believe in the academy, build a relationship with the fans and understand the resources we have and don’t have. not as a club. and being part of a team.

“Ange, I must say, is a breath of fresh air.”

Postecoglou arrived at Tottenham in June after winning numerous domestic trophies with Celtic in Scotland, including the treble last season.

It also followed success in Japan with Yokohama F. Marinos and Brisbane Roar in the A-League, which included a 36-match run in which his team remained undefeated.

Many detractors thought the 58-year-old would be out of his depth in England – but as he has spent his entire managerial career, Postecoglou has stood by his attacking philosophy and left some of the fans eating their words.
