One of the soldiers who came home for the holidays was Matias Domingo, who met his daughter for the first time after his wife gave birth two months ago.

“I was definitely counting down the days,” Domingo said KLKN. “It's a feeling I can't explain right now, but I'm definitely very excited to be back home.”

His wife Brianne agreed: “It's just nice that he can spend time with her now and bond with her.”

“I'm just excited to be back and have missed them both very much,” said another soldier, Chase Adams, as he held his little girl.

“Many things have changed and are ready for our lives to resume.”
