Heartstopping moment three survivors run from exploding private jet that crashed on Florida freeway, as two killed are identified as pilot, 50, and his co-pilot
Dramatic footage shows the moment three survivors flee a private jet explosion in Florida that killed the plane’s two pilots.
Crew member Sydney Ann Bosmans, 23, along with passengers Aaron Baker, 35, and Audra Green, 23, were filmed fleeing the fiery inferno after it crashed on Friday.
Pilot Edward Daniel Murphy, 50, and second-in-command Ian Frederick Hofmann, 65, were killed when the jet’s engines failed and it crashed on I-75 outside Naples.
Video taken by passing motorist Kyle Cavaliere showed huge plumes of smoke rising from the wreckage moments after the plane crashed.
“He also landed on a car,” Cavaliere exclaims as he approaches. As it gets closer, huge flames can be seen and debris strewn across the road.

Crew member Sydney Ann Bosmans barely escaped with her life. She is listed as a flight attendant for Hop-a-Jet, the company that owns the plane
The video then cuts to another angle and shows three people sprinting away from the plane.
“Is there anyone else in there?” Cavaliere asks as he runs over to help.
‘Yes, yes our pilots!’ one of the survivors shouts back. Caveliere then asks if they are still alive and the woman replies that she does not know.
The panicked survivors then start asking if he can use his phone as the clip ends.
The pilots reported a double engine failure shortly before the crash during a confrontational emergency call to air traffic control.
The plane was one minute away from making an emergency landing at Naples airport, but another audio moment shows how the pilot already knew they wouldn’t make it.
According to data from FlightAware, the flight was en route from Ohio State University Airport to Naples Airport, although the college says the plane was only using its facilities and had no connection to the university itself.
The plane was owned by Hop-a-Jet, a Florida-based private charter company, and was not related to the university.

The company said it had received “confirmed reports of an accident involving one of our leased aircraft near Naples” and that it would send a team to the crash site.
“Our immediate concern is for the well-being of our passengers, crew members and their families,” the report said.
Bosmans is listed as a graduate of the Beyond and Above Corporate Flight Attendant Training school and her Linkedin states that she works for Hop-a-Jet.
The Federal Aviation Authority closed all southbound lanes for 24 hours while they investigated the accident.
One FAA investigator was already on scene and more were expected to arrive this weekend. A preliminary report should be issued within 30 days.
Police and emergency workers flooded the scene and state forces opened the northern country only four hours after the accident.
