Bluey fans have revealed a devastating theory that mama Chilli suffers from depression, leaving thousands feeling down on the popular show.
Some viewers of the Australian children’s show have noticed some subtle hints indicating that the mother-of-two is “secretly very sad.”
In an episode titled “Relax,” the Heeler family of four goes on a beach vacation, and when Bluey asks Chilli what her book is called, she says, “It’s about how to be happy.”
Elsewhere in the seven-minute episode, she struggles to unwind alone on the beach and later tells husband Bandit “it’s harder than it looks” – a sentiment hundreds of mothers would relate to.
Fans have also speculated that Chilli is “trying to find herself again” after having kids — as many moms do — and no longer knows how to enjoy her own time.
Viewers believe the Chilli’s behavior mirrors what mothers around the world experience after giving a part of themselves away when they had children.
The animated show has previously dealt with heavy topics including death, infertility and divorce in an effort to educate children about serious issues.

Ashley Baca sparked the conversation after recording herself crying while looking at Bluey
TikToker Asheley Baca, who goes by the username @Asheleyspam, started the grief conversation by recording herself crying while watching the episode.
The video has since been viewed more than 4.4 million times. Many parents say they had something to do with Chilli’s grief.
“I think she’s like a lot of moms trying to find love again after having kids,” one wrote in the comments, and many agreed.
One mom added, “I relate to her in so many ways. I’ve tried so many times just to relax without my kids, but I can’t. I can’t even go on a date with my husband.’
“I can’t relax without thinking about our kids, wanting to go back to them, or thinking about everything that needs to be done.”
Others speculate that Chilli once had a miscarriage and was “heavily affected” by it, as evidenced by her behavior.
