Heartbreaking moment adorable dog is dumped on steps of Colorado animal shelter
A woman was seen throwing a dog trapped in a carrier bag at an animal shelter in Colorado before abandoning the poor pup on the stairs.
The unidentified woman walked into LOLA’s Rescue in Aurora on Sunday afternoon and carelessly threw a black pet carrier on the ground before walking away.
Camera images show how the bag containing the vulnerable dog falls over as soon as it hits the ground.
The manager of a LOLA discovered the stranded animal 30 minutes later and brought it to safety. When she watched the surveillance video, she was completely shocked.
She described her first reaction to the breathtaking sight.
“I was angry at first because I felt bad that someone could just throw a dog away,” manager Shani Lee said. KDVR.
Lee said that when she first saw the dog – which she believes is a terrier, beagle or dachshund mix – he was “very scared.”
The dog, who Lee named Gulliver, is on his way to recovering from his traumatizing venture.

The manager said that after being in the shelter’s care for 24 hours, he started to come out of his shell and feel more relaxed.
“It just helps him get over the hump of feeling safe and comfortable,” Lee told KDVR.
She claimed that abandoning a pet and throwing it outside a shelter is never the right decision.
“If they had just knocked on the door and come in and asked us, we probably would have given them an option,” Lee said.
Once Gulliver has been medically assessed and cleared, he will be put up for adoption. Lee hopes he will find a loving home.
She said he would be “the perfect lap dog for someone he feels comfortable with”, and has urged people to go to the police if they know who dropped Gulliver off at the shelter.

Gulliver’s heartbreaking story comes months after a helpless puppy was left in a California car park before the pet tried to chase its owners as they drove away.
The three-month-old German Shepherd puppy was spotted falling out of a car door at the Country Living Mobile Home Park in Fresno.
Frightened and confused, the dog tried to chase the car onto the road after leaving the parking lot, but the pointy-eared pet had no luck tracking them down.

A witness from the mobile home community called the Fresno Animal Center, animal control officer Rudy Pina told KSEE.
Pina said mobile home management was able to safely capture the dog and care for her before animal control arrived.
“Fortunately, the management of the mobile home park was very determined to secure the dog themselves, which we are very grateful for and which has produced a great outcome for the animal,” he explained.
