Heartbreaking footage of adorable girl, 6, left in coma after crash ’caused by man who tried to assassinate Trump’
The mother of a little girl left in a coma following a car crash caused by Donald Trump’s alleged failed assassin has detailed her daughter’s struggle to stay alive.
Mia Rosalie Monreal, six, suffered serious injuries in a crash that occurred during the chase to arrest suspect Ryan Routh after police had to close a busy highway.
She fell into a coma after the collision and is currently hospitalized in Jacksonville.
Her mother Norka Pardo told the story WPTV that her daughter is still not awake. Heartbreaking footage shows the helpless youngster hooked up to various machines.
“She wasn’t responding, she’s not waking up at all, so they have to help her a little and give her some medicine to help her brain restart,” said a tearful Pardo.
“She opened her eyes a little, closed them to fall asleep, opened her eyes, but there was no response.”
The devastated mother has spent every day by Mia’s side, singing and reading to her in the hope of getting a response.
“She can’t communicate, so even when I talk to her, I don’t even know if she remembers me. I don’t know if she knows who I am, I don’t know,” Pardo said.

Little Mia has been unable to communicate with her mother since the crash in September
‘It’s a miracle she’s still alive. I can’t imagine what she went through and how she almost didn’t make it.’
The mother and daughter were riding in a car on Interstate 95 with Pardo’s boyfriend and her youngest son when the horror crash occurred.
“All I did was ask questions about the kids and the nurses tried to calm me down, telling me we’re worried about you now,” she recalled.
Before the crash, Mia was just like any other energetic girl, with the dream of becoming a gymnast and a lot of love for her siblings.
The family is from Port St. Lucie, so her mother had to move 230 miles away to support her.
‘I often suffer from disruptions. It’s also very difficult not being home with my other two children,” Pardo said.
‘Before the accident I have always been a very overprotective mother and now I have to let that go because I can’t be there for my little one and my eldest, because I have to be here with her.’
A GoFundMe was set up to raise money to support the family during this difficult time.
When officers found Ryan Routh on I-95 after the Martin County homicide, they had to stop the flow of traffic in both directions, causing the crash that injured Mia.

Pardo said she doesn’t know if her daughter can hear or recognize her
The family is separated and Mia is being treated in a hospital in Jacksonville, 230 miles from home
Meanwhile, Routh remains in custody and on Wednesday he was indicted on another charge of attempted murder.
Routh, 58, fled Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida, in a car in September after a Secret Service agent protecting the president-elect shot at him.

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody announced the additional charge of attempted murder stemming from the crash caused after he fled the scene.
But the extra costs provide little comfort to Mia’s family.
“None of this is going to solve anything,” Pardo said. “She’s still in the hospital, we’re still going through this, but I just hope he pays for what he did.”
