Heart symbols exchanged in court between family and tech exec accused of stabbing Bob Lee to death

Tech executive Nima Momeni exchanged heart symbols with family in court after the 38-year-old was accused of stabbing Cash App founder Bob Lee to death.

Momeni allegedly stabbed Lee in the heart after vowing to “come down on him hard” and grilling him over his relationship with his married sister, with whom the Cash App founder exchanged intimate text messages, prosecutors alleged in the court.

Lee also had a drink with Khazar at 3:30 pm the day before he died. The friend was also with them. Lee invited Khazar to his hotel room, but she said no.

Once in the hotel room, Nima called Lee on Facetime. It was about him picking up Khazar from the house where they had been before.

On April 4, Lee was filmed on surveillance cameras as he stumbled into a downtown San Francisco apartment building at 2:35 a.m. after being stabbed. Yesterday, police searched the nearby apartment of Momeni’s sister, Khazar. It is unclear whether they had been together or in the apartment earlier in the evening

The day after the murder, the friend called Khazar and asked if Lee had gone to her apartment. She said he had “a little bit of time,” but that she “fell asleep” and didn’t know when he left, according to the documents.

San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins has charged Momeni with murder, in addition to another charge of using a knife.

In the motion filed Friday, her office said it was a premeditated attack carried out by the angry brother.

Surveillance footage also allegedly captured the stabbing in Momeni’s BMW.

He then sped off, threw his knife into the street, and left Lee to stumble through the streets of San Francisco in a desperate, last-ditch effort to cling to life.

He was taken to hospital, but died of his injuries.

Lee’s family has vowed to cooperate with prosecutors to bring Momeni to “justice.”

They thanked police for making an arrest in a joint statement last night.

San Francisco officials have also welcomed the fact that the killing was not random or a symptom of the city’s growing crime problem as many had assumed.
