This is the heartbreaking moment when hero neighbors rescue a little girl dangling 22 meters in the air from a window on the fifth floor of an apartment building in China.
The girl hung helplessly by her neck from the security bars of an apartment building in Chongqing, south-central China.
In phone footage of the daring rescue, the child, who appears to be about four or five years old and is wearing a pink dress, tries to free herself with her hands as a brave neighbor scrambles up the front of the building to reach her.
As he approaches and her situation grows more uncertain by the second, other onlookers set up a makeshift safety net by stretching out a blanket, preparing for the worst, while another resident climbs the building to help.
One of the men tries to help the girl out from under her as the second man approaches.

Fortunately, they managed to free her despite the rain and gently escorted her safely back through the window, with the child not suffering any serious injuries.
The shop owner next door, Mr Chen, was one of the men who helped during the ordeal, which took place on the morning of August 25.
He told local media the rescue took about ten minutes.
The parents would have gone to buy vegetables and left the child at home alone.
A man can be seen climbing up the side of the building to help. The neighbor also tries to reach the girl. Fortunately, despite the rain, the child was released and led safely back through the window, without serious injury
Chen said, “I wasn’t worried about myself. At that moment, the young girl was hanging completely outside the window, and I wanted to save her as soon as possible.
‘I didn’t think too much. People below found a ladder, so I climbed up.’
According to Chen, the other person involved in the rescue was Mr. Zhao, a neighbor from the young girl’s home.
Chen added, “At that time, she was very excited, crying and screaming for her mother.
“We comforted her, and once she was calm, I climbed back through the adjoining window and came down safely.”
