Heart singer Ann Wilson has announced that she has cancer.

The 74-year-old What About Love musician revealed her health struggles in an emotional Instagram post on Tuesday, revealing she will undergo chemotherapy following surgery.

The message read: ‘Dear friends, I recently had surgery to remove what turned out to be cancer.

“The surgery was a success and I feel great. My doctors are now advising me to undergo preventive chemotherapy and I have decided to do so.”

Wilson said doctors had advised her “to stay off stage for the rest of the year to fully recover” — and canceled Heart’s planned Royal Flush Tour with Cheap Trick, which was set to kick off July 30 in Cleveland. and runs until December.

“To those who bought tickets, I really wish we could do these shows. Please know that I absolutely plan to be back on stage in 2025. My team is working on those details and we will let you know what the plan is as soon as possible.

Wilson did not say what type of cancer she was battling.

Ann and her 70-year-old sister Nancy Wilson had previously cancelled a series of concerts in Europe in June and July due to medical concerns.

They said Ann was scheduled to undergo “a time-sensitive but routine medical procedure” that would require at least six weeks of recovery.

Ann wrote on Instagram at the time: “I’m okay! Don’t worry. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. It’s definitely an inconvenience for me. Love and respect always, Ann.”

Wilson and Nancy were the two lead singers of Heart, a rock band formed in the 1970s that sold 35 million records worldwide.
