Heard of the Ninja Speedi?

>

Today I attended the unveiling of the Ninja Speedi at the brand’s (very cool) new London office. It’s launching in the UK next week, but it’s already available to buy for our US readers.

I’m writing all this down for you to read, because this is a revolutionary home appliance. One that can prepare a meal in 15 minutes. You can use different ingredients; from meat and cheese to vegetables and rice, and put them all in the same pan.

It’s the first small appliance to launch after the success of some of the best air fryers I’ve ever seen. The Ninja Speedi is sure to disrupt our countertops and the way we eat. But what is it really capable of?

When I saw the Ninja Speedi in action, pasta, broccoli and crème fraîche went into the pot. Then water was added. At this point I didn’t know what to expect. Then the Cook & Crisp plate was placed and four crumb-covered chicken breasts were placed on it. The lid was lowered, some buttons pressed and the timer started counting down from 15 minutes.

My time to look at this particular demo was over by then and we had to move on to another demo in a matter of minutes. However, I had plated some halloumi and vegetable skewers with coconut rice from a previous demonstration and, oh dear, it was delicious.

The Ninja Speedi has a total of 10 cooking functions, with a SmartSwitch that can be used to switch between Rapid Cooker mode and Air Fry/Hob mode. Yes, Air Frying is one of the cooking functions along with Speedi Meals, Steam Air Fry, Steam Bake, Steam, Grill, Air Fry, Bake/Roast, Dehydrate, Sear/Sauté and Slow Cook.

You can cook three parts of your main meal according to the specifications and even roast a 1.6 kg chicken. I’ve been equally impressed to see that the 5.7 liter cooking pot (and Cook & Crisp tray) is non-stick and that all parts are dishwasher safe.

This is certainly an example of SharkNinja innovation at its best and I look forward to reviewing it. If you can’t wait to read my review about it and you just know you want to buy it already, our US readers can get your hands on it from the Ninja site for $199.99 (opens in new tab) while our UK readers can be notified (opens in new tab) as soon as it comes in stock (price € 249.99).
