‘He truly loves his wife!’ Prince William sends royal fans wild with gushing words about Kate

Prince William has sent royal fans wild after making a touching comment about the Princess of Wales during their visit to Birmingham.

The royal couple hosted a reception at The Rectory restaurant in the city’s Jewelery Quarter yesterday and also met with This Morning presenter Alison Hammond.

For their engagement day, the mother of three, 41, wore a sophisticated £229 burgundy pleated midi dress from Karen Millen.

Styling her brunette locks in her signature loose waves, the royal opted for minimal make-up and completed her look with some eye-catching gold pendant earrings from Sezane – which were reportedly a Christmas present from Prince William.

Ahead of their reception, the royal couple greeted royal fans outside The Rectory restaurant – where William made the sweet comment about his wife.

As he pushes his way through the crowd, a woman tells the royal family, ‘What a great outfit Kate has on! It is beautiful!’

In response, William said, “Oh, she always looks beautiful.”

Touched by the heartwarming comment, audience members were heard saying “aww” off-camera.

The clip takes the time to talk to all the well-wishers and shows the royal glee as he took a packet of chips from another fan.

He said, ‘Thank you very much! These keep me going home. Thank you.’

The 40 second video ends with William shaking hands with members of the audience and posing for a series of selfies.

Isa’s video has been viewed more than 67,000 times since it was uploaded to Twitter last night and has sent royal fans into a frenzy.

Prince William’s comment outraged royal fans – who commented that he is a ‘man who really loves his wife’

One replied, “There is a man who really loves his wife!”

“I hope Princess Catherine sees this and saves it to her phone,” added another. “I’m sure he tells her every day!”

“They are a lovely couple and always look gorgeous,” said a third.

Meanwhile, a fourth added: “How sweet!”

Yesterday’s outing marked the royal couple’s first official engagement since their Easter break, which they spent with their children Prince George, nine, Princess Charlotte, seven, and Prince Louis, five.

This photo of the royal couple (pictured right) at the Indian Steatery was posted to their Twitter account, with the caption, ‘Hope we told this customer to come to the right place…! @indianstreatery’ after William took a call from a diner at the restaurant

During their trip, William and Kate, who had traveled to Birmingham by train, visited the Indian Steatery, an authentic family-run independent Indian restaurant in the city centre.

While he and Kate were served an array of Indian dishes at the restaurant on Bennetts Hill, William answered the unexpected call and took a reservation for two.

The call came towards the end of the visit at around 1:45 p.m., when the Prince and Princess were about to be presented with a selection of dishes to taste. “Should I take the order?” William joked.

Then, before anyone had time to respond, he picked up the phone and started talking to the restaurant. “Do we have room for two now?” William asked Meena Sharma, chef and co-owner with her husband Rakesh. ‘Half past two?’ he proposed. ‘Does that work for you? No, apparently not at the moment.

‘Do you have a train at 3 am? If you could come in at 2:30 am that would be fine. For two people? Maybe a quarter past two and can you catch the train at three?’

Meena Sharma, who did her best to keep her face straight, chimed in by saying, ‘We have some guests in who are unlikely to leave by then. We don’t have any free tables.’

The only hiccup in an otherwise flawless performance was William mutilating the restaurant’s address and changing ‘Bennetts Hill’ to something more like Benitsia Street. As he put the phone down and the restaurant erupted in laughter, the Prince said: “I probably sent him elsewhere in Birmingham, so my apologies.”

But despite the deception, the restaurant managed to find the place. At 2:15 pm, customer Vinay Aggarwal and his wife Ankita Gulati, who were visiting from London, arrived at the restaurant before going home at 3:00 pm.
