HCL Technologies has asked all employees belonging to Digital Foundation Services (DFS) to come to the office at least three days a week from February 19, according to a communication from the Noida-headquartered IT company.
This move comes at a time when more and more tech companies are moving to workplace-based models, insisting that employees be physically present in office cubicles for a certain number of days each week to improve teamwork, facilitate face-to-face interactions, and strengthen workplace culture.
As such, senior managers and the leadership team at DFS (those above a certain role and level) have moved to a hybrid model, working from the office at least three days a week. The recent announcement states that from February 19, the same hybrid working model will apply to all DFS employees.
All DFS employees, regardless of affiliation, will be required to work from their designated HCLTech offices at least three days a week, the memo said, adding that designated managers will be required to ensure schedule compliance is updated at designated times. portal.
HCL’s DFS division has 80,000 employees.
The notice further stated that first-year students pursuing training will be required to work from the office all five days a week, to gain a complete learning experience.
“Failure to adhere to the guidelines will be treated as an unexcused absence and will result in disciplinary action in accordance with company policy,” the company said.
When contacted, an HCLTech spokesperson said the company follows a hybrid working model, which requires employees to work from the office three days a week.
