Have Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard REUNITED with Jim Bob and Michelle? Reality star’s parents attend memorial service for couple’s stillborn after bitter estrangement

Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard have reunited with her parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, after their bitter estrangement, as they were spotted attending the memorial service for the couple’s stillborn daughter.

Since Jill, 32, took part in the explosive documentary Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, about her family and released a shocking tell-all memoir about growing up in their ‘cult-like’ religion, she has been open about how her relationship with her father is very broken.

In January, she and her husband, Derick, 35, even admitted that they couldn’t remember the “last time” they saw him — and that it had been at least a year.

But now Jill and Derick appeared to have put aside their differences with her father to come together for their stillborn daughter’s funeral service last week.

Jill shared a series of photos from the heartbreaking memorial on her Instagram afterwards, and many were quick to notice that Jim Bob, 58, and Michelle, 57, were in the background of some of them.

At a glance, everyone in attendance could be seen releasing pink balloons into the air to commemorate the baby, who would be named Isla Marie, and Michelle and Jim Bob were spotted among the crowd.

In another image, they appear to be seen alongside Jill and Derick in the audience at the service.

In the four-part Amazon Prime docuseries, titled Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, Jill railed against her parents, accusing them of “taking advantage” of her and her siblings by tricking them into signing contracts and to force them to participate in the family’s numerous reality shows against their will – without pay.

It is reported that the Duggars received $18 million over the course of their 21 seasons on TV, but according to Jill, it all went into her father’s pocket.

When asked if they ever received money for their time on the show, Jill replied, “No. I never received a payout.

“No check, no cash, nothing. For seven and a half years of my adult life, I never got paid. We have been taken advantage of.’

During the documentary, which premiered in June 2023, Jill also shared some of the extreme measures her father took to cover up brother Josh’s abuse of his own sisters – and recalled having to defend him on national television to prevent the murder. The family’s popular reality show is not being canceled.

She explained that when news of Josh’s alleged abuse became public in 2015, her father’s focus was on protecting the family’s squeaky-clean reputation — not the victims.

The former reality star released her own book in September, called Counting The Cost, and in it she shared even more of her family’s secrets, claiming her father “treated her worse” than “her pedophile brother.”

She talked about her father’s reaction to the book Today show days after it came out.

“My dad texted the whole family group [since we’re still in the group thread] and he just said, “This is so sad,” she revealed.

“He’s basically threatening that if anyone speaks out against him or my mother, he or she will be cut out of the inheritance.”

When asked about their relationship at the time, she described it as “complicated.”

“We just had to set some pretty strict boundaries and just put things in a healthier place,” she explained.

‘Not much has changed. And again, we don’t expect people to change.

“So while I love, respect and honor my parents, I simply have to prioritize our family unit and do what is best and healthy for Derek, me and our children.”

At the time, she said she would see her mother during “celebrations of birthdays and some holidays,” but as for her father, she said she had no “individual contact with him.”

“My relationship with my father became quite toxic to the point where we had to cut off individual contact with him,” she said.

“It got to the point where Derick stepped in and said, ‘Hey, don’t contact my wife individually or I’m going to have to file a protective order,’ just because it was so hard for her. to treat me.’

She said at the time that she was “hoping for a reconciliation,” but said “change” had to happen first.

“At the end of the day, we love our family, and I would love for my children to involve their grandparents more in their lives, but we also want to make sure it’s a healthy relationship,” she said.

In January, Jill confirmed during an appearance on The Unplanned Podcast that she had recently seen Michelle, but when asked about the last time she saw her father, she couldn’t even remember.

Derick said he thought it was when their son, Freddy, was born in July 2022, with Jill adding, “Was that? Or was it a wedding? I can not remember.’

“It was a birthday thing or a baby announcement. Some kind of family function,” she concluded, and Derick interjected, “That was over a year ago.”
