Ms Hammond admitted in her 2021 autobiography that she had gastric band surgery after a “terrible” moment during an interview with Matt Damon in 2007.

The star recalled: ‘It was really disturbing. I felt like my body was rejecting the foreign entity inside me and I started to get sick.

“It normally takes 15 minutes to remove a gastric band, but with my surgeon it took an hour and a half because the scar tissue had grown so thick around mine that it was squeezing my stomach so much that I couldn’t eat anything,” she added to.

“That’s why I was always sick.”
