A sickly-looking Harvey Weinstein was wheeled into a New York courtroom on Thursday as authorities considered whether to extradite him to California to serve prison time.

On Thursday, his legal team denied any extradition, meaning the New York Attorney General’s Office will need an extradition warrant from California Governor Gavin Newsom, despite prosecutors previously obtaining a fugitive warrant.

Thursday’s hearing in Queens criminal court came days after Weinstein left a city hospital where he was being treated for pneumonia and other illnesses.

According to prosecutors and defense attorneys, the hearing was about California’s extradition request.

Weinstein arrived in a wheelchair, pushed by security officers, and wore a dark suit.

He looked sickly and pale as he listened to his lawyers.

Weinstein has been held at the Riker’s Island prison complex since Monday.

The 72-year-old is in custody in New York as the Manhattan district attorney tries to retry him after the 2020 conviction against him was overturned last month.

During a hearing last week prosecutors said they could be ready to retry the case as early as September, with at least one in two alleged victims willing to testify again.

In that case, the once-powerful former movie mogul is accused of raping an aspiring actor in 2013 and sexually assaulting a TV and film production assistant in 2006. He denies the charges.

In overturning the conviction, New York’s highest court ruled that the judge biased Weinstein with inappropriate statements, including by having other women testify about allegations he was not accused of.
