Harry vs Wills…who wore the beard best? As Prince of Wales’ facial hair sets fans aflutter, YOU decide which royal brother looks better with a bit of fuzz on their face

There are those who believe that a moustache makes a man, while others prefer the subtlety of a stubble beard, a refined goatee or a well-groomed full beard. But no matter what style you prefer, one thing is clear: facial hair is in.

Research often shows that women are attracted to men with beards because they can accentuate their positive qualities, are seen as more masculine, and can even be a sign of maturity.

It’s no surprise then that fans’ hearts are beating faster when Prince William shows off his new, luscious locks for the first time in over a decade today.

However, the Prince of Wales isn’t the only royal dabbling in the art of facial hair.

Prince Harry is known for his red hair, and he’s had it for so long that it’s hard to imagine him with a clean-shaven head.

But which brother wears it best?

Both the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex have facial hair, but who wears a beard best?

The hunky royal, 42, visited the Homelessness: Reframed exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea, London, today for his first engagement after the summer.

On ‘X’, formerly known as Twitter, someone said: ‘William’s beard is back and it’s never looked better! Let’s hope he stays away from the razor this time… because this glow-up is amazing.’

While another added: ‘What do my eyes see? Prince William is back and has a new daddy beard look and I am loving this era.

King Charles occasionally sported an impressive beard in his younger years, including in 1976. And his brother Prince Andrew sported a thick stubble in 1983.

Speaking to ITV about his memoir Spare, Harry said his stubble “felt like a shield” against his anxiety.

He even claimed in his memoir that his facial hair led to a feud with his brother before he married Meghan Markle in 2018.

The Duke of Sussex claimed William was “furious” when his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, gave Harry permission to keep his beard for the wedding.

“Some people felt that a beard was a blatant breach of protocol and old standards, especially as I was getting married in my army uniform,” Harry explains in the book.

‘Beards were banned in the British army.’

In the memoir, written by Pulitzer Prize-winning author J.R. Moehringer, Harry says he personally asked his grandmother, the late Queen, for permission. He explains that the beard calmed him down.

‘Yes, she said, you can keep your beard,’ Harry writes. ‘But then I explained it to my brother and he… got goosebumps?

“Not the prevailing opinion,” he said. “Military regulations and so on.”

Harry says he gave his older brother a “quick history lesson” using Google, showing William images of royal ancestors with beards and in uniform, such as Edward VII and George V.
