Just days after The Late Late Show debunked rumors that One Direction would be reuniting for the show’s final episode, the CBS late night talk show confirmed that Harry Styles would be one of its final guests alongside Will Ferrell.
Gossip outlet DeuxMoi revealed that Styles, 29, would reunite with his One Direction bandmates Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik for the first time in eight years.
The official Late Late Show Twitter debunked the report, saying, “Nobody loves the boys more than we do…but this story just isn’t true.”
“What is true is that we have scheduled a brilliant 2-hour finale at 10pm on April 27th to celebrate 8 years of #LateLateShow,” the statement concluded.
CBS announced Monday that Styles and Ferrell — who both have long histories with the show — will be the final guests on the final regular episode, following a primetime special.

He also returned for episodes in Season 5 and Season 6 before making his last appearance in Season 8 last year.

Just hours before the series finale, CBS will air the one-hour special The Last Last Late Late Late Show with James Corden Carpool Karaoke Special, which will air at 10 PM ET before the series finale at 12:37 AM ET.
Tom Cruise will also join Corden for one last over-the-top sketch that will debut during the primetime special.
Corden revealed during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show that a conversation with his son Max led him to leave the late night talk show and move his family back to the UK.
“I was filming on a Sunday and I came downstairs, it was about six in the morning and my son, who was ten at the time, was sitting on the stairs and he said, ‘Are you working today?’ and I said, “I am.”
“He said, ‘I thought, well, it’s Sunday,’ and I said, ‘I know buddy, but this schedule is just everywhere.
“We’ve just got to get it done because we’ve only got a tiny bit of time before we have to go back and do the show,” and his face just sort of slumped,” Corden said.
“I got in the car and called my wife Jules and I said, ‘I’ve realized, at best, we’ve got six more summers where Max is, even remotely wants to be near us and I can waste no other.” Corden explained.
“So the choice was really to go, ‘If I really want to do this other job, it can’t be at the expense of our kids, our family,’ which is really all it boils down to,” Corden added.
