It comes after Rupert endorsed a Harry Potter TV series amid rumors that studio bosses are already considering adapting the franchise.

Rupert confirmed that he would be open to reprising his beloved role as Ron in the Harry Potter franchise.

The actor landed the role of the young wizard at the age of just 11 and said he would be prepared to return in some capacity as long as “the time was right and everyone came back.”

Speaking during an appearance on This Morning last week, Rupert admitted that he feels “protective” of Ron and would like to see what he’s up to now because the role was “his whole childhood”.

Phillip Schofield asked: ‘Would you bring Ron back? Wouldn’t you really object to seeing what he’s doing now?

Rupert replied: ‘I think if the timing was right and they all came back. He was a character that was important to me, we became the same person.

I also protect him. It was all my childhood.

Joking about his lack of acting credentials before landing the role in the film adaptation of JK Rowling’s much-loved novel, he added: “I was a fish in a school play before that!”

The actor starred alongside Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger), both 32, in Wizarding World for eight films.

Two decades after first hitting screens, the trio reunited in 2021 when they returned to Hogwarts for the franchise’s 20th anniversary at Warner Bros. Studios.
