Harry Potter fans were irked on Wednesday after the announcement that JK Rowling’s Wizarding World was going to be a TV show.
Warner Bros. announced on Wednesday that each season of the show, which will be executive produced by the author, will be based on one of the magic books in the franchise and run over a ten-year period.
However, the series will feature an all-new cast from the eight films, originally starring Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger).
Despite a new cast, the video teaser of the announcement revealed that the logo, which was designed by illustrator Mary GrandPré and used in the books, movies and many official projects more than 23 years ago, will remain the same.
The divisive nature of the news from the TV series was only amplified when fans grumbled about the “unoriginal” use of the logo.
