Harry Maguire has revealed he is in talks with Manchester United about signing a new contract, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.
United have the option to extend his contract for another year, tying him to the club until 2026.
Asked about his future at the club and whether he wanted to sign a new contract, Maguire, who earns £190,000-a-week, said: ‘Listen, I haven’t really thought about it.
‘I still have this year to go with an option in their hands, but all signs are positive at the moment and the conversation I’m having is really positive.’
Maguire played the entire match against Manchester City in a back three under Ruben Amorim and the England international insisted Amorim is ‘tactically very good’ when asked what has changed at the club under the new manager.
“You can see we have a good structure, a good playing style and the way he wants us to work,” Maguire said.

‘But yes, I think his demands are tactically very good. He has proven that he is a winner. We are still quite new. “I think he’s been here for a month now and we’re really looking forward to where we can go and where we can take this club, and I’m sure he’ll take it in a positive way.”
And Maguire insisted United’s comeback win over City will be crucial for their confidence after successive defeats in the Premier League.
‘It is of course very important (for trust). Winning football matches is very important. When you play for this club, winning is required.
‘We have had consecutive defeats in the Premier League, so to come here and make a statement is very important for our confidence and belief in where we are going and where Ruben is going to take us. Like I said, I’m sure it’s going to be a positive journey,” he said.
On Amad Diallo, 22, who won the penalty for United’s equalizer and scored the 90th-minute winner, Maguire added: ‘He has done really well this season. He is just a young boy and still has a lot to learn. I’m sure he will gain a lot of experience in these big games, and I’m sure he has a big future for this club.
‘We are happy that he is doing well, but as I said, there is still a long way to go. He has a big job to help us move up and improve this club.”
