Harry Kane reveals he came to Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur to ‘improve’ and ‘feel a new pressure of having to win titles every year’
Harry Kane has revealed that his main motivation for signing for Bayern Munich was to feel the pressure of winning titles.
Kane has never won a major trophy in his career. He came close, but fell short both at international level with England and at club level with Tottenham.
He was criticized for staying so long at Tottenham when he might have had more success at another club, but he finally made the leap this summer when he joined Bayern for £100m.
The striker made his Germany Super Cup debut on Sunday with the potential to win his first trophy 24 hours after joining his new team, but they lost 3-0 to RB Leipzig that night.
Kane, talking to Sky Sportshas since revealed that he has moved to Germany to compete at the highest level and push himself to try and cope with the pressure placed on him and his new side.

“A lot of people talk about the trophies and why I came here, but in the end it was to get better,” Kane began. To feel a new pressure of having to win titles every year, go far in the Champions League and push myself to the limit.
“If you win games, if you win titles, if you win Champions League titles and I’m the one playing up front, it’s more likely I’ll be the one to score goals, so you can win. other individual awards.
“But that all comes from what you achieve as a team. That is my focus in the first place and that will start next Friday.’
Many were surprised that the 30-year-old decided to move to the Bundesliga as he was certainly just a few years away from beating Alan Shearer to become the Premier League’s all-time top goalscorer.
But ironically, his focus will not be on trophies. Bayern have won 11 Bundesliga titles in a row and are also expected to go far in Europe, something that isn’t always possible with Tottenham being targeted by Kane.

Tottenham failed to qualify for the Champions League this year, a tournament that Kane is now looking forward to again
“We have a long season ahead of us,” he said. “There’s a lot of pressure on Bayern Munich to win the league and go far in the Champions League, and that’s what I like to challenge myself with.
“When you play at a club like Bayern Munich, you have to win. There are no questions about it.
“If you don’t win or don’t perform well, you will be questioned. I’ve been able to deal with that throughout my career, whether it’s with Tottenham Hotspur or England.
“When you start the new season, you always want to start well with a good result. First an away game will be tough, but if we can win it, we can inspire confidence for the rest of the month.’
