Gary Lineker and Harry Kane were among some of the big names to congratulate the England Under-21 team on their European Championship victory.
The fledgling Three Lions won their first trophy in 39 years with a 1-0 win over Spain in the final courtesy of Curtis Jones’ goal.
Lee Carsley’s side was unsurprisingly praised by fans, former and current England players and the Prime Minister.
Former striker and BBC Match of The Day presenter Gary Lineker tweeted: ‘Great. Congratulations,” with clapping emojis.
England’s all-time top scorer and current captain Harry Kane wrote: ‘Yesss lads! What a win! Made the country proud.’

James Trafford produced an incredible late double save as England won the Under-21 European Championship
Capped 81 times by the senior team, Rio Ferdinand simply said ‘Boooom!!!’, with signs clapping.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also congratulated England and signaled goalkeeper James Trafford, who made a crucial save late in the game.

‘They did it! Congratulations England U21 on becoming European champion,” Sunak tweeted.
‘And to go an entire tournament without conceding – James Trafford takes a bow’.
England were 1–0 up thanks to a goal in first half stoppage time after a Cole Palmer free kick on Curtis Jones deflected.
It looked like England could take victory in Georgia, but there was late drama when defender Levi Colwill was penalized for a foul in the area after a VAR check.
Abel Ruiz stepped up to take the penalty in the ninth minute of second half stoppage time, but Trafford managed to save him and then responded by keeping out the rebound.
It is the first time England have won the European Under-21 Championship since 1984 and only the third time they have won the trophy overall.
