Harry Kane received a warm welcome from Bayern Munich fans after being named on the bench for their German Super Cup tie against RB Leipzig on Saturday night.

The England captain did not officially complete his transfer to the Bundesliga giants from Tottenham Hotspur until Saturday morning, but could be called up at the Allianz Arena by Thomas Tuchel.

Kane had to be registered at 2pm on the day of the game to take part, and despite late complications delaying his arrival in Munich, he was able to sign on the dotted line in time.

After signing a four-year contract with Bayern this morning, the 30-year-old could well win his first silverware in Germany before the day is out.

Kane posted an emotional farewell message to Tottenham fans on Saturday morning, saying it was the ‘right time to leave’ after spending nearly 20 years at the club.

The England captain has signed a four-year contract at the Allianz Arena following a £100 million transfer from Tottenham Hotspur.

Kane then trained with his new teammates for the first time ahead of the Super Cup match against Leipzig.

Bayern have won the Super Cup 10 times, meaning Kane could make a successful start to his time in Germany.

Tuchel’s side only won the Bundesliga title on the last day of last season, but have strengthened strongly during the summer transfer window.

Kane’s signing follows the arrival of Konrad Laimer from Leipzig, Raphael Guerreiro from Borussia Dortmund and Kim Min-jae from Napoli.
