Harry Kane has a basketball mistake – followed by a quick success – as the Tottenham talisman avoids all transfer speculation amid Bayern Munich’s £70m rejected bid
Harry Kane has shown off his basketball skills in an Instagram video – although the first of his shots left a lot to be desired.
The England captain and Tottenham talisman is one of the most talked about off-season players, with repeated rumors linking him with a move to Manchester United or Bayern Munich.
But the 29-year-old doesn’t seem to be focusing on the speculation, instead enjoying his off-season playing another ball sport.
Kane captioned his Instagram post, “Haters will say it’s fake,” alongside emojis of a pair of eyes, a smiling face, and a basketball.
It begins with the Spurs forming forward for a long range throw to the basket, but it’s so high it bounces off the ceiling.

Coincidentally for the England captain, the ball landed in his hands and he was able to make the basket from a less impressive distance, but still show off his accuracy with his hands, after years of demonstrating his accurate footwork for club and country.
Basketball isn’t the only American sport Kane has expressed interest in. In May, Kane reaffirmed his desire to become an NFL kicker one day.
Speaking to Pro Football Hall of Famer Michael Strahan on GMA Wednesday, Kane commented, “It’s something I definitely want to explore. I know it will be very hard work; I don’t expect to just walk up front and start scoring field goals.
In addition to his basketball skills, Kane has revealed his ambition to become an NFL kicker one day
“It will be a lot of practice, a lot of hard work, but yeah, it’s something I’d like to do. I’ve been following the NFL for about 10 years now and I love it. So I’d like to try it.’
On Monday, new Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou confirmed he had no certainty that Kane would appear in a Tottenham shirt in the 2023/24 season.
Simon Jones had previously revealed that the club were on the verge of rejecting a £70 million bid from Bayern Munich as Tottenham rate Kane significantly higher than that bid.
