Harry Kane limped off with an injury in the second half of Bayern Munich’s weekend match against Eintracht Frankfurt, leaving England selectors sweating on his fitness.
The Three Lions captain was competing for a ball in the second half when he collided with an opponent, leaving him crumpled on the turf and requiring medical attention.
Kane appeared to suffer a collision with his ankle and after being unable to continue as he grimaced in pain, he was hooked by Bayern boss Vincent Kompany.
Club physios could be seen tending to Kane’s right leg and massaging his groin as the striker lay in agony as his replacement, Mathys Tel, prepared to come on.
The 31-year-old was replaced with around 20 minutes remaining as Bayern conceded an equalizer deep into stoppage time in their first game back after a shock Champions League defeat to Aston Villa in midweek.

England head coach Lee Carsley will now await an urgent update on Kane’s fitness as his Three Lions side prepare to meet next week.
On a more positive note, Kane was able to leave the field unassisted and clapped hands with Kompany before taking his place in the dugout.
The former Tottenham star now faces a race against time to be fit for England’s upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Greece and Finland.
Kane was entrusted by former boss Gareth Southgate to lead the national team’s attack and has retained his role under Carsley despite the impressive recent form of both Ollie Watkins and Dominic Solanke.
Should he be unable to work with his Three Lions teammates, Carsley could opt to call up a replacement for Kane as he continues to audition to get the job on a permanent basis.

Meanwhile, England will kick-start their upcoming series of matches by hosting Greece at Wembley on Thursday, October 10.
