Harry Kane exposed Jamie Carragher as a liar on US TV in a funny post-match interview following his Champions League win on Tuesday.
The England captain scored twice as Bayern Munich overturned a 1-0 first-leg defeat to Lazio to advance to the quarter-finals 3-1 on aggregate.
The former Liverpool man had said before the match that he had spoken to Kane to inspire him to win the last 16 of the Champions League, but this was quickly denied by Kane.
CBS Sports host Kate Abdo started the post-match interview with Kane. “Before we do anything, I think we should clear it up first because Jamie said earlier in the pre-game that he called and spoke to you this week. Is that true or not true?’
“That’s not true,” Kane replied, causing Carragher to laugh hysterically in the studio.

Carragher replied: ‘Mate, don’t do this to me! I tell everyone in America that we are friends, that we have a great relationship. I can’t believe you just did that to me!’
The Bayern marksman said: “We are friends, but I am not going to lie on national television.”
Carragher stated that they were “Twitter friends,” prompting Abdo to claim “those are not friends.”
He went on to explain that he supported Kane doing business against Lazio even though their conversation was not ‘the whole truth or the whole truth’ as they had exchanged messages ’12 months ago’.
Kane laughed and said, “Yes, we did. But I appreciate it.’
Them later continued their discussion about X (formerly Twitter), with the former Tottenham talisman writing: ‘Sorry @Carra23, the truth will always come out’, alongside tears of joy emojis.
