Harry Hamlin believes wife Lisa Rinna made the ‘correct decision’ to exit RHOBH

Harry Hamlin believes his wife Lisa Rinna made ‘the right decision’ in leaving ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’.

The 59-year-old star recently announced that he was stepping down from the show after eight years, and Harry has now revealed that he fully supports his decision.

Harry, 71, who has been married to Lisa since 1997, said PEOPLE:'[It was the] right decision, the right decision to make at this point after eight years. I think she took it as far as he could and elevated the show.

‘Now is the time to move on. Eight years is a long time to do anything, the same thing over and over again. It’s time to move on.

Harry revealed that both he and Lisa have other projects in the works.

Speaking about his future plans, he said: ‘We’re both very busy. I’ve got [’80 for Brady’] and ‘Mayfair Witches,’ and then he’s already talking to the studios about starting something else, so I think we’re going to be very busy over the next few months.

Lisa recently announced her departure from the show after her contract expired last season.

Despite this, the TV star insisted that she was “grateful” for the opportunity and for Bravo’s support.

Lisa, who has daughters Delilah, 24, and Amelia, 21, with her husband, said in a statement: “This is the longest job I’ve had in my 35-year career, and I’m grateful to everyone at Bravo. and all those involved with the series. It’s been a fun eight-year run, and I’m excited for what’s to come!’

Two weeks before the big news, Rinna’s husband Harry said he thinks her honesty and disdain for injustice often gets her into “a lot of trouble” on the show.

‘[Lisa] does his job. His job is to be on time, to interact with the people on the show in an honest and authentic way,’ he shared with PEOPLE.

Harry explained that his wife, 59, is angry at the dishonesty and unfair actions.

“Her hot topic, I guess, is injustice or when someone else isn’t being honest, she’ll call it out.

And that gets you into a lot of trouble. But it also helps the show,’ said the 71-year-old actor.

Harry defended his wife against the misconceptions about her character that have arisen from her time on RHOBH.

‘I have known her for 30 years… She has never, in all that time, told a lie. And something that wasn’t absolutely and honestly true.

And yet, she is accused of being a liar on the show. And I don’t pay much attention to that because I know she’s not,” the Clash of the Titans actor said.

With such a strong personality, Harry understands that Lisa will have some enemies, but he believes that most viewers enjoy the soap opera star.

“There’s always going to be 50 percent of the people who like you, 50 percent of the people who hate you,” he explained. “I think the hate factor is much more, like 80 percent [of] people like Lisa, 20 percent don’t.

On Friday, the happy couple was seen for the first time since the big news broke at the premiere of the film 80 For Brady at the 34th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival in California.

Lisa and Harry share two daughters: Delilah, 24, and Amelia, 21. Harry also has a 42-year-old son, Dimitri Alexander, with ex-partner Ursula Andress, 86.

He was previously married to Desperate Housewives star Nicholette Sheridan, as well as actress Laura Johnson.

Harry previously said during an appearance on The Jess Cagle Show that when he and Lisa met in 1992 there were “immediate sparks.”
