Harry Grant lends his support to Cronulla Sharks star Nicho Hynes after the Dally M winner reveals he is having “the hardest time of his life” amid drug charges against his mother for allegedly supplying heroin .
Harry Grant has offered a public message of support for close teammate Nicho Hynes amid the Dally M winner’s off-field struggles over the summer.
Hynes revealed earlier this week that she is going through the “toughest time of my life” amid injury issues while her mother is in custody on drug charges.
Daily Mail Australia revealed on January 30 that Julie Hynes, 50, was facing trial for knowingly supplying heroin after a family friend accidentally overdosed on the drug at her home.
Hynes said she was by her mother “every step of the way.”
And after securing a golden points win for the Melbourne Storm in their season opener against Parramatta, Grant said he had Hynes’s back during their turmoil.

Grant said he has Hynes’s back after he scored the golden point for the Storm.
“I just want to support one of my good friends, Nicho Hynes,” he told Channel 9.
“I know he’s dealing with it a bit right now, so I just want to say I’ve got you covered.”
“I guess it’s a reminder to everyone that not only soccer players but also athletes are human, they have a life outside of soccer, so I’m thinking of you mate and I’ve got your back.”
Earlier this week, Hynes said: “Everyone will have an opinion on this story and will react however they want, but I’m going to support Mum every step of the way and be there for her.” .
‘I will visit her and what happened I don’t think was the right outcome.
The Storm took the season away from a flyer after passing a tough test on Thursday.
“You can’t really judge on that, but there’s no way in the world I’m leaving her up and dry now.” She needs the support and I need my support.
‘I’ll get my support and she’ll get her support and I’ll be there for her. When sentencing day comes, I’ll probably say a little more and hopefully we’ll get a better result then.
“But, at the end of the day, it is what it is and I have a job to do here for the Sharks and I have a job to do as a role model to inspire the next generation of people and that’s what I’m here to do.
Leading a large media scrum, Hynes said that “it’s no secret that it’s been a difficult time.” It has probably been the hardest moment of my life.’
