Prince Harry and Meghan Markle put their children’s privacy first, but the ‘softest PDAs’ are a reminder of ‘their tactile, empathetic behaviours’, a body language expert has claimed.
Harry, 40, and Meghan, 42, had royal fans gushing yesterday after releasing their Christmas card on Twitter, with six sweet photos of the couple revealing a snapshot of their year.
The greeting card offers a ’round robin’ of ‘the couple’s achievements’ this year, with various photos from their travels and engagements with the public, body language expert, Judi James told Femail.
One photo of Meghan hugging a young girl during the Sussexes’ trip to Colombia this year reminds “us of their dazzling brilliance and their tactile, empathetic behavior when hugging or touching people they met on tours.”
Meanwhile, the couple, with just one photo showing their two children, Lilibet, three, and Archie, five, remain vigilant in their continued “privacy intentions for their children.”
‘Ironically, this photo places the viewer at such a distance that it resembles a paparazzi photo, as the couple was thought to be invading their own privacy here, but the sentiment from the body language is one of an idyllic bond shared equally. ‘
While the Sussexes’ first Christmas card with Archie was “all about sharing with the viewer”, this year is a “complete contrast” with just a long shot of the two children running into their parents’ arms.
Judi said: ‘In complete contrast, the two children are now only seen from behind and instead of exploring the world, they run into their parents’ arms in an expression of love and security.’

According to Judi, the couple’s attempt to present a “more personal story” seems “emphatic,” with Meghan in one photo leaning adoringly towards her husband and appearing “overwhelmed with love.”
“The gesture is returned by a loving Harry who “reciprocates by kissing her on the head,” she explained.
‘There’s an image of one of their most tender PDAs of the year, where Meghan leans back against her husband with her hands crossed on her chest, almost overcome with love, and Harry reciprocates by kissing her on the head, again in a more dominant, confident posture with one hand in his pocket.”
Two photos of loving hugs featuring both Harry and Meghan echo Princess Diana, with widespread hugs exuding a “depth of love.”
Judi said: ‘Harry and Meghan’s offered hugs, with arms outstretched and broad smiles of delight, resemble an echo of William and Harry’s pose with their mother Diana on board the Britannia, a photo that has become iconic as an illustration of spontaneous tangible behavior that showed the depth of her love for her boys.’

The card also included a personal message from the couple, which read: ‘On behalf of the office of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundations.

Earlier this year, Prince Harry told Hello! magazine that both Lilibet and Archie had their mother’s thick hair, with the Duke joking that it wouldn’t be long before “Lili can sit on hers.”
Recalling her conversation with Harry at this year’s WellChild Awards in London, Sophie Vokes-Dudgeon, the magazine’s Chief Content Officer, wrote: ‘Archie and Lili are blessed with their mother’s thick hair, he told us, self-effacingly, while he I’m surprised it won’t be long before Lili can sit on hers.’
