An eight-year-old boy was left in an induced coma after he was struck by a car while getting off a school bus.
Harrison Gray was driving home from Bees Creek Primary School when he was struck by the vehicle on Bees Creek Road, on the outskirts of Darwin, at 3pm on 6 December.
He got off the school bus, ran after the vehicle, and then crashed into an oncoming Ford sedan before the driver fled the scene.

Harrison was taken to the Royal Darwin Hospital with serious head injuries and placed in an intensive care unit with his devastated parents at his bedside.
His mother Paula Apostoles and father Dean Gray have been praying for a full recovery.
“Because of his injuries, we don’t yet know what his prognosis will be,” Ms. Apostoles said. NT News.
It’s a devastating blow to the family with Christmas just a week away and the parents unsure if they’ll wake up in time.
Ms. Apostoles urged families to talk to their children about road safety in the hope that no other parent has to endure the same pain as her.
“School holidays are starting and everyone should be aware that children are away from home or near roads and car parks more at this time,” said Ms Apostoles.
Harrison Gray was driving home from Bees Creek Primary School when he was struck by the vehicle on Bees Creek Road, on the outskirts of Darwin, at 3pm on December 6.
She added that she was “overwhelmed” by the support the community had shown her and her family during the harrowing time.
Family friend Casey Speirs started a GoFundMe page with the campaign raising nearly $12,000 in just seven days.
“He is still in critical condition and has a long road ahead of him in his recovery,” she wrote.
“I’d like to take some of the financial stress off this family so they can focus their full attention on their son’s well-being and recovery.”
NT Police are continuing to investigate the crash and have urged anyone with information to come forward.
