Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren battled through the Old West on Sunday as Paramount aired the first trailer for the 1923 Yellowstone spin-off series.

The legendary Ford, 80, and the Oscar-winning Mirren, 77, have officially entered the sprawling universe of Yellowstone as they anchor the latest chapter in the Dutton family’s origin story.

The iconic actors play the central couple Jacob and Cara Dutton, who struggle to maintain their ranch empire during the titular year of 1923.

According to an official plot summary released by Paramount+, the show is set in “the early 20th century, when pandemics, historic droughts, the end of Prohibition, and the Great Depression all ravage the mountain to the west, and the Duttons who call it home’.

“You have no rights here,” Cara Dutton of Mirren growls at the beginning of the trailer.

Talk of a “distance war” soon spreads when the Duttons come into conflict with Timothy Dalton’s wealthy new neighbor, Donald Whitfield.

Decadence, dust, guns, and grit abound in the 90-second trailer as Harrison and Helen fully inhabit their badass characters.

“Men kill quickly with a bullet or a noose,” says Mirren, causing an Irish purr. “But your fight is with me and I kill much slower.”

Guns are drawn and bodies are buried in the first glimpses of 1883.

Other highlights include vast landscapes and a conflict with Native Americans, and in the last few seconds of the trailer, an African lion even roars out of a bush.

“You’re not a god Jacob Dutton!” an angry cowboy yells at Harrison Ford.

“Tell the world what happens when they cross me,” Ford says at one point in his signature rasp.

“Greed will be the thing that kills us all,” Mirren declares towards the end.

1923, which premieres December 18 on Paramount+, is the second prequel to Yellowstone after last year’s 1883.

That show followed the Dutton’s as they traveled to Montana and fought to establish the family farm.

It starred real-life couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill as the central couple James and Margaret Dutton, with Sam Elliot riding in to play the rough-and-tumble leader of their wagon train.

Yellowstone’s fifth season premiered earlier this month, drawing 12.1 million viewers and cementing its place as a pop culture juggernaut.

The star that started it all remains Kevin Costner, 67, who reportedly anchors Yellowstone for a fee of $1.3 million per episode.

1923 looks like it’s going to be a surefire hit for the legendary pair of stars who’ve saddled up to tell the story.

“You attack my family,” says Harrison, “it will be the last thing you ever do.”
